    Homemade Clam Chowder

Hello my students of food. Most of you have probably had clam chowder in a restaurant, which I have had to. But have you ever made it yourself. Very unlikely. Well let me begin my review of this magnificent dish.

Clam chowder is a rustic dish that’s smooth and creamy yet has a wonderful after taste which may sound weird to many. I thought this dish had a salty, and tangy flavour of the sea from the calm juice which is pretty good for the aroma and taste of the dish. I also like the ham of which added a sort of smoky flavour to this dish. I t also doesn’t overtake any of the other flavours.

The texture of the potatoes was also very good. The potatoes also soaked many of the other flavours of the dish, and spew it out when you chew. The texture of the broth was also very creamy and gave it a smooth texture going down your throat. If you’re wondering what type of cream I used, I used 18% cream (super creamy, don’t drink straight out of the carton, yuck). The texture of the clams was also very smooth, and almost melted in your mouth. There was also a hint of bacon in this dish which also added to the flavour of the dish.

This dish is the perfect comfort food, if you’re into that. It was very nice.

The side dish I had with the clam chowder was some garlic bread. Very nice and crispy , and also very garlicy.

    I rate this dish a 8.9 out of 10

    Peach Cobbler

Peach cobbler is a tasty treat to some people, but I don’t think of it that way. A couple of days ago I made this so – called “tasty treat”. Well it wasn’t that tasty to me. I thought this recipe would blow my mind, eat it up then spew it out, devour it. Unfortunently this wasn’t the case.

The peach cobbler was maybe to sweet, maybe it was because I used those mediocre canned peaches in syrup (yyyuuucchh). One thing I did like about it though was its crust, I have nothing bad to say about it. This is going to be a short review because I only ate one awful peace. You’re probably thinking that I have no class, and that peach cobbler is an awesome dessert. Well that’s your opinion, not mine! 😛

I rate this dessert 3.7 out of 10.

    Frogy Vacation

When I went to Quebec I thought I’d be seeing the ocean, birds, whales, and cool houses. Which I did.

Although the weirdest, and tastiest thing happened to me when me, and my family were returning to Ontario.

We were all hungry, and we were all ready to go into the first restaurant we see which miraculously was a chinese restaurant. It wasn’t a regular takeout restaurant it was a buffet.

You may think oh, he just ate some noodles, sushi, and egg rolls; but you’re wrong I had shrimp, egg rolls of course, and “frog legs”! Yes, “frog legs”! These “frog legs” looked almost like regular chicken legs only thing was that they were juicier, were even more tender, and tasted great.

    Here’s a look at what I ate:

Therefore, it was a great tasting vacation that I will never forget, and rate 7.8 out of 10.

    El Greeko

I have just recently gone down to Toronto, and of course went to Yorkgate Mall. There I was hungry, so I decided to get something to eat in the food court. I decided to go to this greek restaurant called El Greeko (sort of spanish name). There I ordered their special the “Souvlaki Dinner”. Souvlaki is a greek dish with either chicken, pork, or beef cooked on a stick.

The “Souvlaki Dinner” consisted of a potato with a weird sauce on it, a stick with chicken souvlaki, some white rice, and a caesar salad. This dish was poor in its presentation, and lacked in the taste category as well. I mean the food was really bland, and the rice wasn’t even cooked.

This is what a real souvlaki dinner is supposed to look like.

This dinner was really awful, but it kind of satisfied my hunger for a while! This restaurant is not what I call “a good place”, so I would rate this atrocious restaurant a 2.3 out of 10 because of all it’s bad qualities.

    Chicken Wrap

Not Long Ago, I made a special snack for myself. A chicken wrap. This wrap was really easy to make all I had to do was get a tortilla, cut some chicken breasts up and put them in the tortilla after cooking them. Next I put in some tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers. Finally, I put in some mayonnaise, and olive oil to top it all off.

This wrap was very fresh tasting, sweet, and amazingly delicious. I would rate this recipe a 7.5 out of 10.

    Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

I have just recently made Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies. These cookies were sweet, and if you like oatmeal you’ll love this.

All you have to do is just make a regular chocolate chip batter but just add a cup of oatmeal it’s that simple.

Even though it may sound a little weird, it’s actually quite tasty. The oatmeal and the chocolate mix quite nicely. Giving a sweet, yet mild oatmeal flavour DELICIOUS!

    I rate this recipe a 8 out of 10.

    Restaurant in New Jersey

Last year I went on vacation to New Jersey and of course had to eat at a restaurant. So I ate at this quaint restaurant on the edge of town, which I thought was kind of small. When I went into this place I didn’t expect much on the food category. However, as soon as we started are appetizer,

    steam clams

in a garlic, lemon, and basil suace with fenil inside the clams. My mouth was serenaded with “flavour”. This appetizer was sweet, yet tangy with a nice lemony flavour.

The main course however was a true work of art. I mean who would not love to eat clam chowder and a whole crab. That’s ~CRAZY~. It was creamy, warm, and crabby.

Finally, for desert we had a chocolate cheese cake sweet and cheesy. That was a dinner in which I will (and my taste buds) will remember. This restaurant on the Sedore01 scale is given a 9 out of 10.

    Meat Lasagna

I recently got to make Meat Lasagna.

    Meat Lasagna

It was very light, but was still delectable. I thought it could use a little more “pizzaz” in the spice category, but it was pretty good in its own special way. The lasagna was stuffed with ricotta cheese so it was a little bland. I rate this recipe a 5 out of 10.

    Food At Local Restaurant

I recently have gone to a restaurant in my community. I have to tell you this place is absolutely fantastic I first started off with a plate of

    spring rolls,

    spring rolls

with a sauce that is not known to me. It tasted sweet and sour and a little nutty at the same time it was superb.

Next I had their signature dish,

    Beef Pho
    Beef Pho

very tasty indeed a little spicy, but not too much. After that superb main course, I had an asortment of rice, vegatables, and meats. This was spicy, sour, and sweet.

At the end of the meal I finished of with a mango smoothy very sweet, no sugar added. This Dinner was delectible. I would rate it a 7.5 out of 10.

Well, this is another post by your food critic Sedore01.
